                            Free to Change - Domestic Violence program for Men
Up to ten sessions of one-one counselling, patterned after the Sheriff King Home model in Calgary, AB. This program is acceptable for court ordered domestic violence treatment. Begin as soon as referred to the program. More sessions may be offered, depending on the needs of the client.

Fees:  Clients pay according to Lifetalk’s sliding scale to accommodate their financial needs. Subsidy available when qualifying need given to facilitator.

Program Philosophy - Everyone has the right to a life, that is free from abuse, to be treated with dignity, to be treated with respect, regardless of age, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation or social class.

Program Goals
Provide information and tools to break the cycle of abuse for participants and their children.

Sessions cover: Invitation to Change, Defining and Understanding Anger, Effects of Abuse, Re - discovering Emotions, Accepting Responsibility, Stress.
Remaining sessions as applicable touching on: Introduction and Goal Setting, Toxic Beliefs about Gender, Non - Abusive Anger, Boundaries,     Empathy & Active Listening, Resolving Conflicts, Emotional Health, Separation, Loss & Grief, Moving  Beyond Shame, Self - Esteem & Jealousy, Substance Abuse, Communication - Assertiveness, Most Violent Incident, Healthy Support Systems, Celebration.
