Free to Change - Domestic Violence program for Men patterned after the “Paths of Change” Men’s Group Counselling Program  at the Sheriff King Home in Calgary. This program is acceptable for court ordered domestic violence treatment.
Phase One: six sessions, plus one intake session in one-on-one counselling format, allowing clients to begin as soon as referred to the program. To begin Phase One, register by phoning 362-2210.
Phase Two: 10 - 16 sessions, depending on the needs of the client, in group or one-on-one format.

Funding:
Clients pay according to Lifetalk’s sliding scale to accommodate their financial needs. Subsidy available when qualifying need given to facilitators.

Program Philosophy
Everyone has the right to a life, that is free from abuse,
To be treated with dignity
To be treated with respect
Regardless of age, color, religion, gender, or sexual orientation or social class

Program Goals
Give participants the information and tools to break the cycle of abuse for themselves and their children

Conditions for the program
Men will participate in a Risk assessment with regards to re-offending.
Men must agree to a Lifetalk Counseling staff member periodically contacting their victim while in the program.
